Change the email address on your Samsung Account

If you switched over to a new email address or simply don’t use your current one any more, you can change your email address on your Samsung account. This can be done from your Galaxy phone or the Samsung website and takes only a few minutes to complete.

Note: Information provided applies to mobile devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version, and device model.

Please follow the steps below to change your Samsung account email address using your Galaxy phone.

1 On your phone, navigate to and open Settings, and then tap Accounts and backup.
2 Tap Manage accounts, and then select your Samsung account.

3 Tap My profile, and then tap Profile info.
4 Next, select your email at the top of the screen.

5 Tap Change, then enter your new email address, and then tap Change again.
6 You will be prompted to enter the verification code sent to your new email address. When you’re finished, tap Verify.
7 Enter your Samsung account password, and then tap Confirm.
8 For security purposes, you will need to enter your Samsung account password again, and then tap Sign in.
9 Next, you will be prompted to log in to your Samsung Account using your new credentials. Tap OK (at the bottom of the screen).
10 Enter your new email address, and then tap Next.
11 Enter your Samsung password, and then tap Sign in.
12 As you are now using a new email address for your Samsung Account, you will be prompted to accept the terms and conditions of use again. Tap More, and then tap Agree.
13 Finally, tap Cancel if the prompt to use Samsung Pass appears.

Note: To use Samsung Pass, tap Get Started and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure.

Please follow the steps below to change your Samsung account email address using a web browser.

1 Using your internet browser, navigate to the Samsung Canada website.
2 Select the profile icon in the upper right corner, and then select LOG IN/Sign-up.

3 Enter your email address and select Next.

4 Enter your password and select Sign in.
5 If your account is protected by two-step verification, you will need to enter the verification code sent to your Galaxy phone or tablet. Then, select Verify.

6 Select your profile icon in the top right corner, and then select your name in the drop-down menu.
7 Select Manage Samsung account.
8 Select Email ID.

9 Enter the new email address in the New email address section, and then select Change.
10 Enter your password, and then select Confirm.
11 You will be prompted to enter the verification code sent to your new email address.
12 When you’re finished, select Verify.
13 Finally, select Done. That’s it! Your email has been changed.

Your Samsung account ID can be recovered using an email ID hint or your recovery (secondary) phone number or email address.

Option 1: Recover your account ID using an Email ID hint

Step 5. Enter the requested information > Tap Continue.

Step 6. Review the Email IDs listed > Tap Sign in now > Sign into your account.

Option 2: Recover your account ID using your recovery phone number or email address

Step 3. Select Forgot ID.

Step 4. Enter your recovery (secondary) phone number or recovery (secondary) email > Tap Continue.

Step 6. Verify that the phone number or email displayed is yours > Tap Send code > Enter the verification code or PIN number > Tap Verify.

Step 7. Select an email ID > Tap Sign in now > Sign into your account.

Follow the steps below to begin resetting your password. Once you reach the verification screen, choose one of the four available methods to verify your identity and create a new password.

Note:

  • Go to inbox not available: If you do not see the Go to inbox button on your phone, check your email inbox directly.
  • Signed-in devices: You can choose to sign out or stay signed in to your Samsung account on other devices with active login sessions.
  • Other verification options: In some countries where you can sign up with a mobile phone ID, you can also reset your password through phone number verification.

Note:

  • Signed-in devices: You can choose to sign out or stay signed in to your Samsung account on other devices with active login sessions.
  • Security question required: To reset your password using a security question, you must have already registered one in your Samsung account settings.

Step 2. Select Recovery email > Tap Continue > Tap Go to inbox > Follow the instructions in the email.

  • Signed-in devices: You can choose to sign out or stay signed in to your Samsung account on other devices with active login sessions.
  • Recovery email required: To reset your password using a recovery email, you must have already registered a recovery email in your Samsung account settings.
